*Thyroid Px is a very balanced blend of nutrients and botanicals that is designed to support the healthy function of the thyroid gland. Thyroid Px is a stronger thyroid support formula than ThyroCare. The addition of very high levels of iodine, in the form of organic iodine (extracted from seaweed) and potassium iodide, are added to support optimal thyroid function.
Iodine plays an important role in the formation of thyroid hormones and helps maintain healthy cellular metabolism. Guggul is considered a rejuvenating herb in the Ayurvedic tradition of India . The resin of the Guggul Tree is a powerful adaptogen, which helps promote thyroid, liver and kidney function. Studies suggest that Guggul boosts the thyroid to increase iodine metabolism and helps maintain cholesterol levels already in the normal range. Bladderwrack has been traditionally used to support thyroid function for thousands of years, and it appears to provide the thyroid with the nutrition and substrates it requires. Blue Flag Iris has a long history of being used to improve thyroid function. Diiodotyrosine (DIT) is a molecular intermediary produced during normal thyroid function. DIT occurs in nature not only in human and mammalian thyroid cells, but also in some forms of seaweed. This is one of the reasons that people in Europe were traditionally advised to take seaweed baths and eat seaweed soups to promote thyroid function. DIT in Thyroid Px is extracted from iodine in seaweed and is combined with the amino acid tyrosine. Tyrosine enhances the production of thyroid hormones. Studies show that the combination of tyrosine and iodine support thyroid hormone formation. Selenium plays an important role in thyroid hormone metabolism.
Caution: One capsule EXCEEDS the Recommended Daily Allowance for Iodine. This product can potentiate thyroid hormone replacement medications.
